Yes, there is 1 white and piebald American Bully puppy for sale here today. The coat is uncommon in the breed, and the first thing worth saying is that scarcity and quality are two separate measurements. I’m Greg Harpson, I’ve bred American Bullies here since 2015, and coat is the last thing I select for, well behind temperament and behind structure.

The white and piebald puppy standing with me now

This is the only white and piebald puppy in the group as it stands, so what you see is the whole of it. Each one has been looked over by my vet before it travels, with the dates written down for you to keep.

The genetics behind a white and piebald coat

Extensive white spotting from the S locus, with sp producing the piebald patterning. A near all-white dog is usually an extreme expression of spotting rather than any true absence of pigment.

Reading a white and piebald, and what it gets muddled with

Confused with albino, which is a genuinely different thing and genuinely rare. A white American Bully almost always has normal pigment on the nose and eye rims and a normal eye colour, where a true albino would not. The distinction is worth drawing because the health picture behind each is different.

Where white and piebald sits in the breed

This is the one coat where a specific test is worth asking about before anything else. Where white runs extensively across the ears and the head, the rate of congenital deafness climbs, and it can touch one ear or both. A dog deaf in a single ear lives a completely normal life and most owners never notice. It is still better to know, and a BAER hearing test is how you find out for certain. If you are buying a heavily white puppy from anyone at all, ask whether hearing has been checked and how it was done.

Not rare, but it is the one coat where the sensible question is about a test rather than a look. Before you weigh anything else about a heavily white puppy, ask whether its hearing has been checked, because that answer matters more than any scarcity claim attached to the coat.

To place it against its neighbours, here is how white and piebald compares on how scarce it really is and on how often buyers go looking for it. The coats beside it in the table are the ones people most often weigh against white and piebald.

What this coat means for the dog’s health

Congenital deafness. Across dog breeds in general, heavy white on and around the head and ears goes with a raised rate of deafness, because the cells that make pigment are involved in the development of the inner ear.

Beyond the coat, the rest is about the breed rather than the colour. The full picture is here, and you can see how every coat lines up.

I don’t screen or certify the parents and I won’t pretend otherwise. What I do stand behind: every puppy is examined by Bell Rock Veterinary Clinic before it leaves, it has had DHPP with the booster and the canine influenza shot by ten weeks and been dewormed between two and ten weeks, the written record travels with it, and you take it to your own vet inside the first week. Any dog I breed can come back to me at any point in its life.
