Standard American Bully for Sale

The class the written standard describes, and the one I hand most first-time buyers without hesitation.

A standard American Bully is the measuring stick for the breed: 17 to 20 inches at the withers for a male, 50 to 80 pounds, compact and muscular without tipping into exaggeration. XL, pocket and classic are all defined by how they differ from this dog.

The dog the standard is written around

Blocky through the head and chest, heavy through the body, on a frame of 17 to 20 inches for a male and 16 to 19 for a female. Line it up against a classic of the same height and the standard is the one carrying the extra substance. This is the shape the written standard sets out, and the other three classes read as moves away from it in one direction or another.

Why it is the safe default

It gets the practicalities right at both ends. Enough dog to have genuine presence, not so much that you cannot lift it into a car at the vet. Heavy enough that lead manners matter, light enough that an average adult keeps hold of it. And it sits clear of both extremes: none of the airway compression that follows a micro, none of the joint loading that follows a very heavy XL. If you have not settled on a class yet, start here and move off it only for a reason you can name.

Why classic shares this page

Standard and classic run the same height range and part company only on how much the dog carries. The standard is the heavier build, the classic the leaner one on the identical frame. The case for the lighter version, and all four classes laid out together.

The terms every puppy here leaves on

The price sits on the card, with nothing added at the end of the conversation. Examined by Bell Rock Veterinary Clinic before it travels, sent home with a written health record and enough of its own food to change over slowly, and delivered anywhere in the country by road or by a nanny who flies it in the cabin, never in cargo.

I don’t screen or certify the parents and won’t claim I do. What I do is have every puppy examined by Bell Rock Veterinary Clinic before it leaves, and the dates go on the record that travels with the dog.
