Delivered to San Antonio
American Bully Puppies for Sale in San Antonio
Around 950 miles from Sedona, delivered by road or by a nanny who flies the puppy in the cabin.
I raise these dogs in Sedona, Arizona, about 950 miles from San Antonio. It is a comfortable two-day run, and because San Antonio sits in drier air than the Gulf coast it is a gentler delivery than Houston for a dog that struggles to cool itself.
The question that trips up San Antonio buyers: base housing
San Antonio carries one of the largest military populations in the country, and the privatised housing on Fort Sam Houston, Lackland and Randolph restricts pit bull type dogs through the lease.
A lease sits entirely outside the Texas statute. State law stops the city from banning the breed. It says nothing at all about a housing contract you put your own name to. If you live on post, the only ruling that counts is the housing office’s, and the time to ask is before a deposit changes hands, not after a set of orders lands you in that housing.
Climate
Hot, but drier than Houston, and for a short-muzzled dog the dryness counts for more than the raw temperature. Summer runs still travel overnight, and the same May-through-September caution applies once the dog is yours.
How the puppy gets to you
Two days on the road by way of El Paso, driven the whole distance with regular stops, or a nanny into SAT in a single day with the puppy in the cabin. Never cargo. The full Texas page.
Every puppy, the same terms
The figure on the card is the figure, with nothing bolted on at the close. Examined by Bell Rock Veterinary Clinic before it travels, sent home with a written health record and enough of its food to change over gradually, and delivered anywhere in the country, by road or by a nanny who carries the puppy in the cabin and never in a cargo hold.
I don’t screen or certify the parents and won’t claim I do. What I do is have every puppy examined by Bell Rock Veterinary Clinic before it leaves, and the dates go on the record that travels with the dog.
Ask me anything
The awkward questions included, and that goes for a puppy you are weighing up from somebody else as well.
